I truly believe that we, as Christians, are meant to have a community together and a formal building that is set aside for worship only. That being said, I do (and I mean REALLY DO) understand why there seems to be an increasing movement among Protestants for home churches. It is much "safer" and you are much more "in control" of what goes in in the environment. I can see the allure right now. But I also believe that what does not kill us will make us stronger, and that God has a lesson for us in both the good things and the bad things that happen in our lives. So, teach me O Lord. I really need to get SOMETHING out of everything that is going on in our Parish right now. UGH!!
We have sold 12 tickets out of 250 for the Late Nite Catechism 2 show. The show is March 15th. I have been told that we are being boycotted by members of the church because of things that are going on in the Parish and School. But this falls into the category of cutting off your nose to spite your face. We need the money from this fundraiser to be able to keep the school open. Boycotting us because the Priest has made budget cuts to keep the school open while we try to increase enrollment just doesn't make sense. We really need people to support this so that we can make money to end the budget cuts. So, we are going to outside parishes to try to sell tickets. If we do not sell these tickets we will LOSE over $4,000 that we cannot afford to lose. Pray for us please. We need all of the help that we can get right now. We're in big trouble.
I can't wait for spring!! I am so ready to get out in my garden. I have been neglecting my seedlings a bit, but they are struggling along. As soon as the weather breaks I am going to go out and spring clean my garden, double dig, add my soil amendments, and let it rest (if possible) for a few weeks before I plant my heavy duty feeder stuff like broccoli. I'll plant my peas directly outside as soon as the weather permits.
Well, that is all of the blogging that I have time for today. Have a great day!

Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry about the boycott thing. I sure will pray for God to move here. I am a BIG believer and big supporter of Christian education. It's so important for our kids to learn in a place that supports what is being taught in the home and in the church. Hang in there. There's still 2 weeks to go.
Thanks, unashamed. :) I am really trying to keep my chin up. There are things going on right now in our congregation that are dividing us. It is such a shame. But this too shall pass and a lot can happen in two weeks. I'm counting on the power of prayer.....
I'll be praying for your congregation and that things turn around for your fund raiser. That is such an important thing and I hope that everyone comes to that conclusion and not continue the boycott.
I will say a prayer right now...My husband teaches at Christian School and they too have made some spending choices not everyone agrees with...but we gotta support the school and support our kids and communicate with leadership at the same time....
