You know that you have reached a new level

of Maturity (a.k.a. oldness) when you do not attend a big free summer concert event like this year's OzzFest because you have Other Things To Do. Grown up things, like work. We had tickets and pretty good seats even though they were free. But we couldn't go because my DH had to attend various meetings all day long yesterday with people like his Area President and such. Folks who are pretty high up there on the list of People Who Are Very Important in the company that hubby works for. There was NO WAY that he could sneak out early or take a personal day. So Ozzfest had to take a back seat to making a living and advancing DH's career. Maybe it's better that way. At our age we probably seem so out of it to most of the kids there that we are either the pathetic old geezers reliving our Glory Days (Party On Wayne!!) or we are the narcs. Since when did your 30s become so old?

But hey, Ozzy's in his 50's and still rockin'. I guess there is hope.

I LOVE ozzfest and I am kinda bummed that we couldn't go. But a girl's gotta pay the mortgage.....sad, but true. LOL!!

We've been to ozzfest 1996, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, & 2005. In 98 I was pregnant and in 2001 I was kinda postpartum so we didn't go. Last year was SO EXPENSIVE and in 2004 we were just busy. Ozzfest is kind of our "thing" in the summer. :) We love the old metal, but we love the new stuff too and Ozzfest has both. Plus you just meet the neatest and craziest people at the show! And we won't talk about the parking lot festivities....Crazy!!

LOL, I can totally relate to this. This weekend we bought a CD of one of my favorite groups from the 80's and we were listening to it as we were driving. Of course hubby and I were singing too (badly, of course) and the kids were going crazy. They couldn't believe that we called that music, lol and then hubby decided to turn off the a/c and roll the windows done so people could hear. Both kids just sank totally down in their seats.
